Start with an expenses record
Create an Expenses list for what the household actually spent. Add a clear name, amount, and date for each item. Use consistent labels such as “rent,” “electricity,” and “groceries” so the list stays readable over time. Invite the people who need to see or update it.
Separate plans from payments
Use a Budget list for planned amounts and a Bills & Subscriptions list for recurring obligations and due dates. This keeps a planned grocery allowance from being mistaken for money already spent. A Shopping list can hold items and estimated prices before a trip.
Agree on who can edit
Circlst lets an owner invite viewers or editors to shared lists. Give edit access to people who will record purchases and viewer access to someone who only needs the overview. Keep names and dates consistent, and review the list together at a regular interval.
Know the plan limits
Circlst Free supports 5 active lists, 50 items per list, 5 shared lists, and 3 members per shared list. Custom expense splits are included in Plus and Pro. For a larger household or long-running records, check the current plan limits before setting up every list.
